Ever since going natural, I have really enjoyed the versatility of my hair. I love that I can wear it curly or straight as often or as little as I choose to. One thing that I'm a stickler for is maintaining healthy hair and that starts with taking care of it. I have to admit that I've always been an advocate of simply trimming dead or split ends off because that's what I've always been taught. Though I was curious to see just how well a product like this could actually improve and possibly cut down on a few of those dreaded meetings with the scissors!

Glow: The first thing that I noticed and loved about the Split Remedy products is that they have such a clean, fresh and lovely scent. The shampoo lathers really well and the conditioner makes my hair feel instantly smooth. I have naturally oily hair so I'm always worrying about using leave-in products because most of them tend to weigh your hair down but that's definitely not the case with the Split Remedy leave-in conditioning spray and treatment. They both have a light weight formula which absorbs into my hair without leaving it feeling heavy or greasy. I also really like the Leave-In Conditioning Spray, every curly girl knows that a good detangler is a must-have and this one definitely delivers. I was able to detangle my curls effortlessly. I applied the Sealing Serum on my damp hair just before drying and styling, after straightening I noticed that my hair had tons of shine and my split ends that usually fly out were tamed and smooth. 

Glare: None! I'm just amazed that these products have the ability to produce such noticeable and effective results in such a short period of time! I look forward to continuing using them and I can't wait to see just how much more awesome my hair looks and feels in a few more weeks ^_^

Would I Recommend It? I sure would! After only 2 uses I have already noticed a big difference with my ends. My hair sheds less and my ends are easier to manage and doesn't get as frizzy when I'm out in the humid summer temperatures. I love that I can get salon-like results in the comfort of my own home. What I love more is that I've finally found a great set of products that will help me stretch out some of those salon visits. I mean what more can you ask for? ^_^

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics| Summer 2012 Collection | Swatches + Review

Happy Summer! Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics has been making a lot of upgrades including a brand new website and recently introducing their new summer collection which features seven Mighty Shiny Lip Gels and 2 new shades of their Luminous Creme Blush. I was first introduced to Youngblood a little over a year ago. They offer a full line of mineral based cosmetics that cater to the skin, face, eyes, and lips. All of their products are cruelty-free and don't contain petroleum, fragrance, or mineral oil. I recently got the opportunity to try out a few goodies from their summer collection so check out my first impressions below. ^_^

Glow: I'll start with the lippies, I really do love lip gels and the Mighty Shiny Lip Gels come in a variety of summery-sheer shades. The formula is really rich, glossy, and goes on super smooth. I also like the design of the tubes, they're sleek, easy to apply and don't create a mess. This was my first time ever trying a creme based blush. I've heard great things about creme blushes but just never ventured out in trying them. I must say that my first impression was definitely a good one. While I probably would've chosen something a bit darker for my skin tone such as their Plum Satin shade, Pink Cashmere is undeniably gorgeous. The blush is creamy, smooth, and blends well. It also lasts much longer than any powdered blush I've tried in the past.

Glare: I have to be honest, I've never been a huge fan of sheer glosses and even though the gel is lightly tinted with color it still goes on pretty clear over my lips. What I do love about these glosses are the high shine, so instead or wearing them alone I can see myself using them more over lipstick for an extra bit of pop!  

Would I Recommend It? I would!  If you're into high shine glosses then these gels are definitely for you. They'd go great paired with your favorite lipstick and they last! The blush is beautiful though Pink Cashmere would probably be more complimentary on fairer complexions :-) Overall, I'm impressed and can't wait to see what else Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics has in store!

Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face and Body Lotion Review

It's almost the official start of summer and as it heats up it's an absolute must that we make sure our skin is protected. May is national skin cancer awareness month and although it just ended there's a way you can still raise awareness year round. You can start by putting the health of your skin first. Glow: I've used Eucerin for years so it's no surprise that they're still producing great quality products. I absolutely love the Moisturizing Body Lotion and what I like most is that it's extremely lightweight. This was my first time trying their new lightweight formula and it took me by surprise because I'm used to the heavier textures of some of their other products. The Daily Protection line is perfect for warm weather because it's not greasy and it absorbs into the skin smoothly and effortlessly without feeling heavy. I love that I can apply it right out of the shower and instantly feel moisturized and refreshed! It also lasts throughout the day which is a huge plus ^_^ The Moisturizing Face Lotion is also lightweight and ideal for even the most sensitive skin.

Glare: For me, the only con was with the face lotion. I first applied it after my normal routine of washing and cleansing my face and it seemed a little tight and on the dry side. I have oily skin and the lotion almost has a matte like finish. I was worried about my skin possibly drying out but fortunately that wasn't the case at all. Once it settled into my skin my face looked balanced and felt good. But if you have dry skin you may need to try something a bit more moisturizing for your face. The good thing is that Eucerin has a solution for every skin type so just make sure you buy based on your skins needs. 

Would I Recommend It? I would! I really like the lightweight formula of both products. I know for me, during the scorching summer months sometimes it's a challenge to even want to wear lotion because of the heat but that's not the case with these. They absorb fast and the body lotion kept my skin nice and smooth.
