OPI Germany Collection Fall 2012 | Review + Swatches

I was waiting to see what OPI had up their sleeves for their Fall/Winter collections this year and as always they've created a variety of shades to compliment the upcoming seasons! This time around they used Germany as the theme of choice which includes 12 beautiful colors inspired by the country. Check out  swatches of the entire collection and my full review below.

Don’t Pretzel My Buttons
A haute honey-beige that can always make you smile.

Don’t Talk Bach to Me
There’s nothing mellow about this sassy lime-yellow!

Every Month is Oktoberfest
Prost! Here’s to the prettiest plum in the Biergarten.

Berlin There Done That
A traveling taupe that’s seen it all. (Yep, that too).

Danke-Shiny Red
You “Bitte” try on this ravishing ruby before it’s too late!

Deutsch You Want Me Baby?
A self-assured shade of shimmering red-orange.

Schnapps Out of It!
Shake off the blues with a shot of fall’s must-have mauve!

Suzi & the 7 Düsseldorfs
The most beautiful bright purple of all.

Unfor-greta-bly Blue
Everyone’s favorite Fräulein loves this über shiny blue.

German-icure by OPI
The best burgundy shimmer in the business.

My Very First Knockwurst
…and what a magical rosy-nude rendezvous it was!

Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!
A bodacious black-olive? We say “Ja! Ja! Ja!”

Glow: So, it's very rare for me to truly love an entire collection but I actually like the majority of these shades. I love that they incorporated a variety of hues yet they all have warm tones that are very reminiscent of colors that we see throughout the fall/winter seasons. The nudes and deep shades are my favorites and the  standouts for me are Don’t Pretzel My Buttons which is a lovely honey-beige nude and also Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! which is described as a black/olive but the olive tones don't really reveal themselves with my complextion. I would describe it as more of a deep smokey grey. The color that took me by surprise the most is Every Month is Oktoberfest, it has a gorgeous shimmery purple undertone that really pops in the right lighting. I also noticed that the more coats you use it becomes more of a deep plum. If you prefer the purple tones then one coat is just enough to get it opaque and really noticeable.

Glare: No cons, the formula was excellent as always. For each of the swatches above, I used a base coat and applied only 2 coats of polish. I did not use a top coat at all and as you can see OPI's formula has a nice shiny finish on it's own. (I rarely use topcoats when I'm swatching b/c I feel it's wasteful if I plan on taking it right off)

Would I Recommend It? I definitely think it's a great collection, I have several favorites and I'm sure there are a few that catch your eye as well. So yes, I would!

Where To Buy: Germany by OPI is currently available at various retailers nationwide. They retail for about $8.50 each. To purchase or to learn more please visit www.opi.com.
