MAC | Chenman Love and Water Collection for Spring 2012 | Review + Swatches

MAC has a colorful selection of new collections for Spring 2012, one of them being Chenman. The collection inspired by Chinese fashion photographer Chen Man is composed of beautiful hues of pink and blue shades all reminiscent of her vision.

Chen Man is the star of the Chinese fashion photography world, rising to prominence on the strength of a series of groundbreaking covers created for the Shanghai- based Vision, China’s first avant-garde fashion magazine, merging her exquisite aesthetic with computer virtuosity. For her M·A·C collaboration, a bold, sensual and lyrical colour collection inspired by the artist’s fascination with love and water (represented by the colours pink and blue). Defining the moment while heralding the future,M·A·C Chenman defies the gaze to look away.

A few items from the collection including; a mineralized eyeshadow, lipstick, lipgloss, glitter pigment and a nail lacquer.

Glow: I really like the love and water theme of this collection. I'm actually surprised at how well I liked the MAC Reflects Glitter which can be worn alone or over your favorite eyeshadow. The glitter reflects shades of blue but it looks more pinkish against my skin, I wish I could have taken a macro shot of it so you could get a true feel of its iridescent like color. The mineralized eyeshadow in Pink Union is gorgeous! I love that there are three different colors that can be worn separately or blended together. The nail lacquer in Breezy Blue is lovely as well. The formula is really good and goes on smoothly. I'm also really loving the shade, it's like a deep navy! The packaging is SUPER pretty, I almost want to keep it lol!

Glare: The lip color, Budding Love isn't very complementary to my skintone, it's a tad too pale to be a wearable shade, for me. Also the Budding Love lipglass goes on a little streaky and I think it would look better worn on top of a lipstick versus alone.

Would I Recommend It? I would! The Chenman Collection is beautiful and although the lip shade didn't really work for me they do have another pink in the collection that has sort of a coral tone. There are also two other mineralized eyeshadows that are just as pretty as Pink Union. So I definitely think there is something in the collection that everyone could enjoy.

Where To Buy: The MAC Chenman Collection is available online and in stores right now. For prices or to purchase please visit your local MAC store or  http://www.maccosmetics.com/.
